HAMPDEN TOWNSHIP (WPMT)- Authorities have identified the 84-year-old woman who was struck by a car and killed while crossing the street in Hampden Township Sunday night.
The Cumberland County Coroner’s office said Darcy Charney Wagonhurst, of Mechanicsburg, died at the scene.
The accident happened along St. Johns Church Road–near the intersection of Trindle Road–just after 7 p.m. as Wagonhurst was crossing the street to attend a church service at the Peace Church.
Investigators said Wagonhurst was wearing dark colored clothing and attempted to cross the street in a dimly lit area when she was struck.
The accident is remains under investigation.
