Santa Claus came to town a few weeks early, singing along with kids at state agencies' day care centers.

The event in Harrisburg Wednesday  morning was part of the 25th annual Holiday Wish Program.

State workers donate gifts, which go to more than 300 families in Pennsylvania who are facing tough times during the holiday season.

The Pa. National Guard loaded the wrapped presents onto its trucks and delivered them to county assistance offices where the gifts will be given out to families.

A small group of workers in the state's Department of Human Services started the Holiday Wish Program in 1989. Over the years it has grown to include hundreds of employees in several departments.
