BRECKNOCK TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-Charges are pending in the crash involving a Car Carrier along Route 222 in Lancaster County, state police said.
The accident happened Thursday in the southbound lanes of Route 222 in Brecknock Township just before 11 a.m. According to investigators, the tractor-trailer went off the road near mile marker 48, then came back onto the highway where it jack knifed and partially overturned.
The driver, Angel Nieves, 43, of Dingmans Ferry, Pike County, was trapped inside the cab until emergency crews were able to rescue him. He was taken to Reading Hospital and is listed in fair condition.
Five of the seven vehicles that were being transported by the tractor-trailer fell off the car carrier during the crash, state police said.
State troopers did not elaborate on the charges that may be filed.
