Police in Lancaster are investigating the death of a Conestoga Valley School District teacher. They found Nicole Matthewson unresponsive inside her home on North Franklin Street Monday. Officers arrived at her home just after 9:00 am. Police are calling the death an apparent homicide. Two questions remain unanswered: who murdered her and where’s her car?
Detectives say she suffered what appeared to be traumatic injuries. During the investigation, police discovered her car is missing.

Officer Michael Hager says, “Most people know where their cars are at. When you don’t there’s a problem, we have a problem here.”

Police are looking for a car similar to a black 2005 Mazda.

Matthewson was a sixth grade teacher at Brownstown Elementary. She spent 7 years there. The Conestoga Valley Superintendent released a statement saying she was an "excellent teacher, and exemplary employee and a respected colleague. Her loss is a terrible tragedy for the school district and community."

Guidance counselors are available to provide support.
