It’s quite a pleasant evening around the area. Clouds have broken up in places to allow for some sunshine late today. Sun sets around 4:42pm and the clouds will fill back in later tonight. With the breaks in cloud cover, temperatures will fall quickly to the upper 30s.
We’ll be starting the day with mainly cloudy skies and lows in the mid to upper 30s which is above average. There could be a few isolated showers in the morning but the best threat for showers will be around noon until the afternoon hours before showers taper off in the evening.
The area could pick up about .10″ up to .30” of an inch of rainfall. Highs will warm to the mid 40’s. Cold front swings through in the evening but the colder air will hold off until Wednesday afternoon and evening as another disturbance swings through followed by a shot of cooler air.
With morning lows in the mid to upper 30s Wednesday, we should warm to the mid 40’s with no problem as sunshine mixes with clouds. Then the next disturbance brings shot of cooler air for the rest of the week. Despite the cooler shot, temperatures will be near seasonal averages. Thursday will be noticeably chillier with morning lows in the 20’s and highs fighting to warm to near 40 degrees. Clouds will mix with sunshine but the sun will do little to warm us. More sunshine for Friday and a seasonal but chilly morning start in the upper 20’s. Highs should head to the low 40’s. We will be watching a storm system that is focused to arrive over the upcoming weekend. Models differ somewhat on timing and track which will be very key to type of precipitation and when it arrives. Right now it appears we will see rain and snow showers. We will have to watch for the possibility of accumulating snowfall especially early Sunday.
