Columbia Borough Police Department began receiving reports of criminal mischief to vehicles in the area of the 200 block of Lawrence Street around 9 p.m. Friday.

Police say several vehicles had their tires cut in the 200 blocks of South Second, Lawrence and Mill streets.

A witness came forward and described the vandal as a white male who was balding and wearing glasses.

Throughout the course of the night and into the early morning hours of Dec. 20, officers observed and received several more reports of vehicles with damage to tires.

Other locations with tire slashing include Furnace Avenue, the 1100 and 1200 block of Manor Street, the 600 block of South 11th and South 14th streets and the 1300 block of Central Avenue.

Police say some of the vehicles had multiple tires cut.

There have been approximately 30 reported vehicles and the damage is estimated to be several thousand dollars, according to police.
