HARRISBURG (WPMT) -- About 50 people gathered in Harrisburg Tuesday evening to remember Terrell Porter, who was shot and killed last week.

The shooting happened near 16th and Walnut streets late on Dec. 22.

Porter was 25.

The group "Heeding God's Call" organized Tuesday's vigil, calling attention to the frequency of homicides in the Capital City. Porter's death marked the 17th such crime this year, tying last year's number.

"It is somber. It is indeed unfortunate. But it is something that can change. And it can be changed by people raising their voices to say something must change," said Pastor Belita Mitchell, of Heeding God's Call.

Police have not arrested anyone in connection with Porter's death.
