One group in Harrisburg helped folks who may have missed out on a Pennsylvania Dutch New Year's tradition. With help from the catering service 7x7, Der Harrisburg Maennerchor social club offered pork and sauerkraut to its members and those from the community.

The traditional meal is said to bring good luck to those who eat it on New Year's Day, and for many it's an annual tradition.

"It's a family tradition, I almost cried earlier today thinking about my grandmother eating the potatoes, it was one of my baby foods, and it's just a tradition that I think most people from around here grow up with and I just think that it's something for the membership here and for guests outside," 7x7 catering owner Mike Balsbaugh said.

Community members could also buy Bavarian-style soft pretzels, pierogies and onions, as well as other tasty treats.
