Suspected wife killer on the run after “horrific attack”

Harrisburg Police released new details as they hunted a suspected killer on Monday.

Shalamar Greenhowe, 27, was found stabbed to death in an apartment on the 600-block of Boas Street on Saturday. She leaves behind two children. Her husband, Philip Greenhowe, is charged with criminal homicide in her killing; he remains at large.

Police weren't looking for Shalamar at the apartment. They were there to serve her husband with a warrant for assaulting his teenage son with another woman. And police say that incident was part of a violent history.

"Philip Greenhowe has an assaultive history," says Sgt. Gabriel Olivera of the Harrisburg Police. "He has been arrested both on her and other females in the past."

Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick says Shalamar suffered a "variety" of injuries, multiple stab wounds as well as blunt force trauma.

"It was a pretty horrific scene, and attack," says Hetrick.

Philip Greenhowe is believed to be driving a dark blue Chevy Tahoe with yellow rims, PA plates HWZ-4292. Police don't know if he has weapons, but they say he is very dangerous.

"He is very dangerous, because if you don't care anything about the lady you profess that you love in front of God and everyone, then you don't care anything for anyone else," says Harrisburg Police Chief Thomas Carter.
