UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Police announced that additional security for Thursday’s, January 15 and Friday’s, January 16, Board of Trustees meetings will be in place.  Police advise individuals attending committee meetings on Thursday or the 1:30 p.m. meeting on Friday at the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel to leave any large bags, backpacks or over-sized handbags at home or in their vehicles.

The additional security is the result of several threats that were received by officials related to the January board meetings.

Anyone attending the meeting with a bag or backpack will be asked to either exit the building or will have their bag searched. There will also be a security check for the media.
