Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be observed on Monday, and in honor of his message of peace, some folks in Lancaster County are being honored for their service in the community.

The 5th Annual Award Ceremony luncheon at the San Juan Bautista Youth Center in Lancaster honored 10 unsung heroes of the community with special awards. Organizers say those who were chosen for the awards do great things for the community-- which goes along with Doctor King's message.

"It all relates to King's strong points for peace and love , what he really stressed, and I think that what these individuals give us here in Lancaster: peace and love among our fellow man  and women here in the Lancaster area, " Dream Minority Business Network CEO & President Macajah Brown said.

The ceremony featured several speakers and local businesses for networking opportunities. Canned goods were also collected for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
