Y0RK COUNTY, PA (WPMT) — A York County homeowner returns home and surprises a burglar in her kitchen. It happened at about 1:23 pm on Friday, January 16, in the first block of New Court in Conewago Township.

The victim told Northern York County Regional Police that when she walked through the front door, she could smell cigarette smoke and heard some shuffling in the kitchen.  She then noticed that the door to the laundry room was half way open and she could see a tall silhouette of a person through the crack between the door and wall. She said that a tall black male run out of the laundry room and left the home though the sliding glass doors. The male then jumped over the deck railing and fled towards Graffius Road. The heavy set suspect was wearing black sweat pants, a gray sweatshirt, and a black knit hat.

Police searched the area but did not find the suspect. A neighbor told officers that he was in his kitchen when he saw a large black male jump over the back railing and begin to run. The neighbor said the male was heavy set and looked as though he was having a difficult time trying to run away.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Northern York County Regional Police Department at 717-292-3647.
