MINNEAPOLIS, MN-  A Minnesota father takes a unique approach to fight back against bullies that went after his 14-year-old daughter.

He called them out on YouTube and showed the offensive video his African American daughter received on Snapchat.

Brad Knudson and his wife adopted their daughter Dee Dee 11-years-ago and he says, “This is one of the kindest girls I’ve ever met so that’s another reason why it hurts so bad.”

He said he filed a police report and reached out to the parents of the 9th graders.

After talking to one of the parents he received a message on his phone, also using the N-word.

Knudson said that the man, “Stated when he was growing up, he used the word all the time, he jokes with this word all the time in their house.”

“On the outside I acted like it didn’t affect me, and I just brushed it off and, you know, pretended life was different at the moment,” Dee Dee said. “But on the inside I was kind of crying.”

That’s when Knudson decided to make the YouTube video.

“I was afraid that if I don’t get this out, if I don’t get people to understand what’s going on, especially with this individual, that my daughter is not going to say anything to me and I’m gonna find her someday hanging in the bedroom,” He said.

The father that Knudson called out in the video has now lost his job according to WCCO.

Knudson says that was never his intention, but now that his story is out there he and his wife plan to start a twice-monthly forum in their area to discuss race.

Below is Knudson’s full YouTube video.
