LANCASTER CITY (WPMT)-A man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Lancaster City man in November was taken into custody in Georgia earlier this week by U.S. Marshals, police said.
Wilberto “Willie Banks” Melendez, 27, was arrested in Lawrenceville, Georgia around 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release..
Melendez is a suspect in the death of 32-year-old Jeremy Torres, who died at Lancaster General Hospital after being shot in the chest along the first block of South Prince Street on Nov. 28.
Melendez remained jailed Thursday in Georgia pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
