Pennsylvania's 14 community colleges announced a new initiative to help students earn credit through training and work experiences. The prior learning assessment initiative is called the College Credit Fast Track and is the first of its kind in the country. Colleges are able to determine if individual's prior education, workforce and life experiences can translate into college credits. Some community colleges are already using the system to help current students move forward in their education. Through a new website potential students can create a portfolio for review so community colleges can determine which credits will be awarded.
