ARCTIC START: We’re off to a frigid start today with temperatures near 10° and wind chills in closer to 0° across the region. Today, we get early sunshine and a westerly breeze to help us boost temperatures to around 30°. Clouds will fill in through the day today. We’ll settle around 20° overnight.
SATURDAY: Saturday looks like a more seasonal day, with highs moderating to near 40°. It’s mostly cloudy and dry. We drop to near 30° overnight.
NEXT STORM: We’re back at it again with another Sunday into Monday storm system, but this one is approaching form the north. As the energy glides over us, a low pressure system will form rolling into Monday. We’re mostly cloud Sunday and staying on the warmer, drier side of the system. Temps will climb to the lower 40s. Any rain looks to hold off until later in the day or evening. We may be even warmer too. Colder air eventually slips south as the low forms and moves east. The big question will be how much cold air can get here before the moisture leaves. Right now the answer is not much, so we keep this mainly rain Sunday night into Monday with some mixing toward the end. By Monday, highs are in the upper 30s and colder air settles in late. More details as we move through the weekend.
NEXT WEEK: Any flakes left will taper by Tuesday morning, as clouds break a bit and highs top out near 30°. Wednesday, we bump back to the lower 30s under mostly cloudy skies. Thursday looks about the same as a clipper moves in with highs near 30° and the chance for some light snow. Colder air comes back again for the end of the week.
