LANCASTER (WPMT)-Police arrested a man Thursday who admitted he used a ladder to climb up and peep into a 13-year-old girl’s window in Lancaster City.

Authorities have charged 18-year-old Dijon Kyree Christian with criminal attempt of invasion of privacy, possession of an instrument of crime, loitering and prowling and criminal trespass. He was arrested  and released on $10,000 bail.

Officers responded to the 600 block of East Madison Street around 7:21 a.m. Thursday after getting reports of a possible burglary in progress. Witnesses told investigators they became concerned after spotting Christian place a ladder against the side of the house.

Christian fled the scene before police arrived–but witnesses were able to point out the house to which Christian ran into.

During an interview with police, Christian admitted that he wanted to climb the ladder in order to watch a 13-year-old girl in her bedroom.

Police said Christian took a ladder from the backyard of another home and carried it about a block to the girl’s house. The girl was not in the home at the time of the incident, authorities said.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 20.
