Southern regional police in Lancaster says a Marietta woman died from her injuries that she sustained during a car crash two weeks ago.

According to police, Laura Cooper, 43, passed away Thursday night at Hershey Medical Center. Her passing comes after she was a passenger in an SUV that crashed into a brick wall on January 24 in Pequea Township. It happened near the intersection of Long Lane and Millwood Road.

Police say a pickup truck began to slow down in front of the SUV to turn left onto Millwood Road.  The SUV’s driver–  Chuck Shaub, 53, of Marietta–  tried to pass the pickup. The truck driver saw Shaub’s vehicle and continued straight instead of turning. Shaub lost control of the SUV and that’s when the vehicle went into a brick wall.

Shaub also received severe injuries during the crash. A 17 year-old in the backseat was hurt as well.

Police say they were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated by police.
