HARRISBURG, PA. (WPMT)  A Megan’s Law violator formerly from York is arrested by U.S. Marshals in California.   David Burgen, 53, was convicted in July 1995, of Child Molestation in Arizona.  As a result of that conviction, he was required to register as a sex offender. Burgen most recently did so in March of 2013 and provided an address in York City.

But, in April of 2014, York City Police  learned that Burgen didn’t live at that address. On May 5th, the city police obtained an arrest warrant charging Burgen with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and requested that the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) locate and apprehend Burgen. Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Harrisburg office investigated leads in Missouri, Arizona and California.

Monday at about 4:30 p.m Pacific time., Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Los Angeles office arrested Burgen in the 900 block of North Encina Avenue, in Rialto, California  without incident. He is currently being held by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department pending his extradition to Pennsylvania.
