Cold temperature aren't keeping people in Lancaster County from enjoying some frozen treats.

The Rita's Italian Ice in Elizabethtown is now open for the season. It's the first Rita's to open in the region; most stands open in early March. People bundled up and lined up to enjoy some of the stand's sweetened frozen delights despite this mid-February deep freeze.

"After it snowed on opening day, we still had lines of people. Today, as you said, it's going to be a high of 19 degrees and people are still coming out to eat Rita's," owner Damon Suglia said.

Rita's in Elizabethtown is offering 50% off everything including their new frozen drinks and chocolate covered strawberry cream ice. People who may not be a fan of braving the cold weather cold desert discounts can still catch Rita's Spring Italian Ice giveaway on March 20.
