Swatara Township Police were called to the Sheetz Convenience Store in the 6000 block of Derry Street just after midnight Saturday

Store employees say a white male in his 40’s entered the store, produced what appeared to be a black semi auto pistol and pointed it at the cashier.

Police say he demanded money from the cash register and the cashier gave the man an undetermined amount of cash.

Investigators say security footage shows the suspect fleeing to a silver colored Sport Utility Vehicle in the parking lot and driving West on Derry Street. The suspect vehicle appears to an older Ford Explorer.

Police say the suspect is a white male, approximately 40 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 230 pounds, with a brown goatee. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head, a black baseball cap with a white circular sticker on the brim, blue jeans and brown work boots.

Anyone with information as to the identification of the suspect can contact the Detective George Haney of the Swatara Township Police Department at 717-564-2550 or submit a tip at the link on the upper right hand corner of the Swatara Police Web page.
