LEBANON (WPMT)-Authorities in Lebanon have charged two people in connection to a drug related death that happened in May 2014.

Tiffany Hoover, 29, and Phillip Maldonado, 42, both of Lebanon, are charged with drug delivery resulting in death and possession with intent to deliver heroin.  Both were taken to Lebanon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The charges stem from the May 17 death of 53-year-old Julio Rivera at the Travel Inn on Cumberland Street.

The day before Rivera’s death–Hoover and Rivera allegedly purchased heroin from Maldonado, police said. The pair got a room at the Travel Inn under Hoover’s name and ingested heroin. Around midnight–Hoover ordered more drugs, which Maldonado delivered to the room, investigators said.

At some point during the night–police said Rivera became unconscious and Hoover took his cell phone and ATM card and left the room.

Rivera was found dead the next day by motel employees.

Police said Hoover later traded Rivera’s phone for more heroin.
