Investigators say the shooting death of a Harrisburg man at a West York gun range appears to be an accident. Police were called to West York Sporting Goods, located at 1059 W. Market St., around 7:18pm Monday. A man was reportedly shot at the indoor gun range.

The victim, Keith Twilford, 22, was dead when officers arrived. Police contacted the York County Coroner’s Office, who responded to the scene to investigate and determine cause and manner of death.

An autopsy was performed today by Forensic Pathologist Associates, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Police say the preliminary point to the shooting being an unfortunate accident.

The evidence and firearm collected are currently pending forensic examination. Police say the investigation shall remain open until those results are received.
