The York Jewish Community Center is teaching kids the importance of helping others with the help of some famous furry friends.

Kids transformed into their favorite canine characters from the TV show, "Paw Patrol."

Through each famous pup, the kids learned about how local shelters help and care for homeless animals.

Organizers say the event is a unique way to teach kids the importance of giving.

Some of the proceeds from today's event will be donated to the York S-P-C-A.
