LEWISTOWN (WPMT)-A man who was wanted out of Cumberland County after leading police on a dangerous chase Sunday morning has been arrested following another chase in Mifflin and Juniata Counties.

Isaiah Mallin, 21, of Newport, was arrested late Sunday in Juniata County. He is charged with fleeing and eluding police, driving under the influence, public drunkenness, illegal use of solvents and numerous traffic violations.

Officers with the Granville Township Police Department were called to Walmart along the 10000 block of Highway 522 South in Lewistown for a report of an intoxicated man trying  buy several cans of air duster spray around 11:25 p.m.

The man, later identified as Mallin, left the store before police arrived, investigators said.  Mallin fled from police after officers tried to stop his vehicle on West Fourth Street. He fled onto Route 322 heading towards Harrisburg. The chase ended after Mallin’s vehicle became disabled when Pennsylvania State Police deployed stop sticks, according to police reports.

Mallin was taken to Lewistown Hospital and then to Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

Mallin was originally wanted by Silver Spring Township Police for an incident that occurred around earlier Sunday at the Wegmans located along the 6400 block of Carlisle Pike.

Officers responded to the Wegmans parking lot a for a report of a man sitting in a vehicle huffing substances from an aerosol can around 7:26 a.m.

Mallin fled from police when officers tried to make contact with him, according to police reports. Mallin sped off going the wrong way down a one way street, nearly hitting a responding police cruiser.

The chase continued through several municipalities until officers were forced to  terminate the pursuit in Mechanicsburg due to concern for public safety, police said.
