OVERNIGHT
Mainly clear skies this evening and overnight. High pressure building across the state will help to relax the winds later tonight. Lows expected to be chilly once again in the low to mid 20’s.

Another dry but chilly day ahead

Bright sunshine for much of the day but the clouds will start to stream in by afternoon and thicken up late in the evening as our next system inches closer. We’ll see another day with dry conditions and lighter winds. Highs will top out in the mid 40’s.

When getting snow this time of the year it can be difficult for it to accumulate on pavement and more likely to stick quickly to grassy surfaces. Temperatures will be key and right now they are marginal for a total snow event without mixing. Higher elevations are most likely to see more snow. Snow and snow mix tapers during the evening commute and finally wraps up around 8pm. Saturday we will get a bump in temps as a weak ridge moves in but a strong cold front crosses the area in the evening. Ahead of the front we should warm to around 50 but as a deep trough settles over the east, colder air returns quickly for the second half of the weekend. Expect a dry but very chilly and below average stretch of weather through Tuesday. The pattern will change allowing more seasonal air to return along with a threat for showers midweek.
