Woman charged for making false rape claim

A Reamstown woman is facing charges after police say she made false rape accusations. Amanda Wertz, 26, told police she was raped in September of 2014. She later confessed she made up the rape because after having consensual sex with a man, he was “ignorant to her and called her names.” State Police in Lykens, Dauphin County charged her with misdemeanor tampering with or fabricating evidence, misdemeanor unsworn falsification to authorities and misdemeanor false reports to law enforcement authorities.
