HANOVER (WPMT)-Thousands of people tuned in Tuesday morning to watch as a tiny eaglet emerged from its egg in York County, thanks to a live streaming Eagle Cam installed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

After weeks of waiting, one of two eggs hatched under the watchful eye of one of their parents. The second egg has not hatched yet.

The typical incubation period for an eagle egg is 35 days. Experts say it can take from 20 to 48 hours to hatch after making the first break in the shell.

The eagle cam is a joint project of the Pa. Game Commission, HDOnTap and Comcast Business.
