Pennsylvania is one of the top 5 states for active U.S. hate groups

The Southern Poverty Law Center found there were nearly 800 active hate groups in the U.S. in 2014.

They include Neo-Nazi’s, White Nationalist, the KKK, and many others.

California topped the list with 57 groups. Florida came in second with 50, followed by New York with 44 and New Jersey with 40.

Pennsylvania rounded out the top 5 with 38.

The list was compiled using hate group publications and websites, citizen and law enforcement reports, field sources and news reports.

Websites appearing to be the work of a single individual were not included in the list.
