The acting head of the Pennsylvania State Police is under investigation and now there are more people calling for Governor Tom Wolf to get rid of Colonel Marcus Brown.

Colonel Brown was already facing criticism for wearing a State Police uniform even though he never went through the State Police Academy.

Then, last week he was accused of removed some signs that had been put up near his house in Cumberland County, causing even more controversy.

One of the signs read, ‘Marcus Brown didn’t earn it,’ and another read, ‘Marcus Brown don’t wear it.’

The Cumberland County District Attorney is now investigating whether or not Colonel Brown committed a crime when he removed the signs.

On Monday, the President of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association sent a letter to Governor Wolf saying that Brown showed “extremely poor judgment” and then called Brown an “embarrassment.”

The Association also called for the Governor to recall Brown’s nomination as head of the State Police.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman agreed saying, “That’s what you get when you enter into public life. You’ve got to stand up and take that. To, for whatever reason, to go onto someone else’s property and do what he did because it bothered him, for the top cop, that’s just not good enough,” he said.

Even though Corman expressed concern about Colonel Brown, he says he will get a confirmation hearing as well as a vote.

At this time, Governor Wolf is standing by his decision to nominate Colonel Brown as State Police commissioner.
