Harrisburg residents won't have to worry about separating their recyclable anymore. It's part of the city's new recycling program. Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse made the announcement on Earth Day. Mayor Papenfuse says paper, plastic, and even cardboard can now go into one bin.

"This could make a big difference," Papenfuse said. "If you think about your trash at home and all that goes in the trash. We've already made this change with my family and we're probably triple the recycling we were before we started thinking about cardboard like that ."

The city will no longer accept glass in regular recycling as part of the new program. Also, brand new bins for both residents and businesses will be given out. The new containers and bins are expected to go out to businesses next month, and residents in June.
