LEBANON, Pa. — Police have arrested a man who they said broke into a woman’s home in Lebanon and tried to sexually assault her early Wednesday.
Jose Rosario, 42, is charged with aggravated assault, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault , simple assault and indecent assault. He was arraigned and taken to the Lebanon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Officers responded to 3rd and Chestnut Streets for a reported disturbance on April 29 around 1:41 a.m.
The 22-year-old woman told police that she had just been attacked inside her home. The woman said she was awoken by a masked man, later identified as Rosario, grabbing her by the throat. He had a knife and tried to sexually assault her, police said. The woman fought off her attacker and was able to escape and get help.
Rosario was arrested later that day in a home along the 1000 block of Lehman Street.
Authorities said Rosario knew the victim and her family.
