EAST LAMPETER TWP., Pa – An apparent serial burglar strikes a Lancaster County motel for the third time in about two weeks.

East Lampeter Township Police responded at 4:49 am Wednesday to a burglary in progress at the 1722 Motor Lodge along the 1700 block of Old Philadelphia Pike. Arriving officers were informed that a black male wearing all black clothing had just broken into an unoccupied room and was last seen running towards Old Philadelphia Pike.

Police discovered that forced entry was made into two rooms. A black 32 inch Emerson flat screen television was taken from one of the rooms.

A security chain on the door at the same motel prevented a man from getting into an occupied room at about 2:30 am on April 30.  The noise woke up the occupant causing the suspect  to flee towards Old Philadelphia Pike. The suspect was described as a black male, 30-40 years of age, 5′ 08″ in height, heavy build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black sweatpants, black gloves, while sneakers, and a red or orange baseball hat.

And earlier on April 21, there was an overnight burglary and theft from a room at the 1722 Motor Lodge. Sometime between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am an unoccupied room was forcibly entered by shattering a window to unlock the room door. An Emerson 32 inch television, a microwave oven, four pillows, a bed comforter and twp lamps were stolen from the room.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect from the April 30 attempted burglary. Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call Detective Preston Gentzler (717) 291-4676.
