HEIMDAL, N.D. -- A North Dakota town had to be evacuated Wednesday morning after an oil train derailed.

The trian was carrying crude oil through Wells County when at least six rail cars came off the tracks. Investigators say ten cars caught fire.

Smoke could be seen billowing into the sky for miles around the crash site.

The railcars that were not damaged in the crash or fire have been removed from the tracks.

The Federal Railroad Administration has sent an investigative team to the scene.

No injuries have been reported. It's unclear when residents in Heimdal will be allowed to return to their homes.
