Firefighters from nine different departments were called in to battle a barn fire in Lancaster County Sunday night.
The flames broke out around 6:30 at the barn on the 5400 block of Buena Vista Road in Salisbury Township.
Chief Troy Wenger, with the Gap Fire Department tells FOX43 the fire started in the back of the barn, possibly by a cooking grill. The flames then went through the roof and spread to the front of the barn where furniture is made and stored.
Horses are kept in the back of the structure; fortunately none of the animals were injured.
It took crews about an hour and a half to bring the fire under control. The exact cause is still under investigation and the barn is salvageable. Much of the furniture was saved as well.
