EAST DONEGAL TWP., PA -- UPDATE: Crews spent several hours battling a house fire in East Donegal Township in Lancaster County.

Officials say it broke out shortly after 1:00 a.m. at a house located at 79 Ore Mine Road.

We're told the fire started in the basement and spread through the rest of the house.

The fire is now under control and the Fire Marshall has arrived to the scene to assist the Maytown Fire Department with their investigation as to what caused it.

Fire officials say the house did not have working smoke detectors, however, all of the residents were able to safely escape.

When the family ran out of the house, they left their cell phones inside so they had to run to a nearby Sheetz to call for help.

The damage is estimated at around $150,000.

FOX43 will bring you any updates as soon as they become available.
