YORK, Pa. – To honor those who have served or continue to serve our country, the York Department of Veteran Affairs and the York County Commissioners held their annual Memorial Day ceremony, Monday.  The ceremony took place at Veterans Memorial Park.  About 100 people attended, the event, that included music, keynote speakers and the placing of wreaths on a memorial for deceased York County Veterans.

“This is a day that all veterans come out to celebrate the life and service of those who we’ve lost along the way; who fought for our freedoms and paid with the ultimate sacrifice” said Philip Palandro, York County Department of Veteran Affairs.

He further says he appreciates everyone who attended.

“They come out every single year just like this, in droves no matter what, in the heat everything they come out and make sure they give to their fellow veterans who served” he added.
