Humidity builds Friday, thunderstorm chances increase this weekend

WEEK ENDS WARM & STICKY: It’s a quiet and less humid start to Friday, but conditions change as we move through the day. Expect plenty of sunshine to start the day, but the humidity creeps up through the afternoon. Some clouds bubble up too, and there will be an isolated chance for a few showers and thunderstorms. Highs are in the lower to middle 80s. By Saturday, a cold front approaches later in the day. This brings the chance for showers and thunderstorms. A few storms could be on the stronger side, with damaging winds the main threat. Expect afternoon high temperatures to remain in the middle to upper 80s.

GRADUAL COOLING: The warm and sticky air slowly fades through the weekend. A widespread shower and thunderstorm chance returns Sunday as the cold front slow up over our region. This is when temperatures begin to fall. Highs are in the middle to upper 70s, but the humidity is still with us. Monday, humidity levels fall to more comfortable readings. There’s still the chance for showers Monday, and this chance lingers into early Tuesday morning. High temperatures fall below seasonable averages Monday, and could be stuck in the 60s!

DRYING OUT: Tuesday looks like the day we finally eradicate the shower and thunderstorm chances. Through the morning, skies clear out. It’s still cool as well, with highs near 70 degrees. Wednesday and Thursday our region is expected to slowly warm under plenty of sunshine.

Have a great weekend!
