YORK, Pa. — A York man was sentenced Thursday to 70 years behind bars for possessing and producing child pornography, according to a release issued by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Daniel Curran, 41, plead guilty in December 2014 to producing, receiving and possessing child pornography.
The FBI found over 40,000 images and 100 videos of child pornography on Curran’s computer and flash drives. According to U.S. Attorney Peter Smith, the evidence also showed Caldwell sexually assaulted a nine-year-old boy on numerous occasions and recorded the assaults.
U.S. District Court Judge William Caldwell is claiming this is one of the most disturbing cases he’s ever seen. Judge Caldwell felt that Curran was a danger to young people and needed to be confined for their safety.
