LOWER PAXTON TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A family living in Lower Paxton Township got a rude awakening early Friday morning after a drunk  man broke into their home and proceeded to pass out on the floor.

Garrett C. Black, 21, of Lower Paxon Township, is charged with criminal trespass, loitering and prowling, public drunkenness and criminal mischief. He was arraigned and released on $5,000 bail.

Police were called to a home along the 4400 block of Dunmore Drive around 12:30 a.m. for a reported break-in.

The family told police they were awoken after hearing loud noises coming from the roof. They fled the residence and called for help after seeing an unexpected guest in their home.

Investigators discovered that Black entered the home from an unlocked second story window and then passed out on the floor. Black believed he was at a friend’s home located next door, according to police reports.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 2.
