Lemoyne woman accused of punching police officer during arrest

LEMOYNE, Pa.–Police said a 19-year-old woman was arrested Monday after she punched a West Shore Regional Police officer in the face.

Chyenne L. Brooks, of Lemoyne, is charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

Officers responded to an apartment located along the 200 block of Herman Avenue shortly before 6:30 p.m. for a report of an active domestic dispute.  Brooks mother told authorities her daughter was involved in a argument with her boyfriend and it was getting heated.

When police arrived at the scene, Brooks mother asked her to leave the apartment. Brooks refused to leave and was arrested for trespassing. While officers attempted to take Brooks into custody–she punched one of the officers in the face, according to police reports.

She was arraigned and taken to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 17.
