The Storm Prediction Center has outlooked most of our region in its Slight Risk category for severe weather. The exception is Lancaster County, where most of the county is highlighted in the Marginal Risk category for severe weather. Marginal is a lower threat category under Slight. The primary threats expected are damaging winds and large hail with any storms that turn severe. The tornado and flooding threat is very low, but not zero, so it cannot be discounted completely.
The threat window appears to be between the hours of 4 P.M. to 11 P.M., but expect showers and thunderstorms to start organizing as early as the 1 P.M./2 P.M. hour. Be alert today and ready for rapidly changing conditions. Be ready to take any outdoor activities inside at the first sound of thunder.
