A ridge of high pressure and a warm front keep the beginning of the week unsettled, warm, and very muggy.

Planner

Monday is another very warm and sticky day, with another round of showers and thunderstorms likely.

Dew Points

Dew points continue to teeter back and forth between muggy and oppressive feeling. Expect the humidity to stay high and uncomfortable!

STEAMY WITH MORE STORMS: The combination of an upper level ridge and a warm front is going to keep the start of the new work week on the hot and stormy side. Through the evening hours, scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to develop. Some storms could still turn strong to severe, with damaging winds and large hail the main threats. Otherwise, the activity slowly fades through the night. It turns hazy and foggy, with muggy lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Monday brings a renewed chance for showers and thunderstorms because the warm front makes little progress north. A few storms could turn severe once more during the afternoon and evening, with damaging winds and flooding as the main threats. Highs are in the middle to upper 80s Monday, but could touch 90 degrees in warmer spots that manage to stay dry. By Tuesday, the warm front is finally gone, but our next cold front is on the way. This brings yet another day of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe again. Highs are in the middle to upper 80s.severe

4Day_Highs

Temperatures remain in the 80s this week.

A BRIEF BREAK: High pressure builds in behind the cold front, but it will be brief. It does however provide some temporary relief, and it’s mainly from the humidity and not the warmth. It’s a dry day with some passing clouds. Highs are in the lower to middle 80s.

BACK TO SUMMER: The pattern quickly turns more unsettled once again through the weekend. A cold front approaches Thursday, and this brings back the chance for showers and thunderstorms. Highs are back into the middle to upper 80s. We’ll be closely monitoring a tiny disturbance’s path for the risk of showers and some thunderstorms into the weekend. As for now, thunderstorm chances should become more isolated in nature Friday and Saturday, if not zero depending on where the aforementioned disturbance tracks. Highs remain in the 80s. Sunday, which is also Father’s Day and the first day of Summer, looks to arrive appropriately so. It will be a hot and humid day, with highs likely reaching 90 degrees.

Have a great week!
