HARRISBURG, Pa. — Strippers and other people who work in adult entertainment in Pennsylvania could soon have to become registered.
State lawmakers are considering a bill that would require adult businesses to register with the state, and pay a $300 fee.
Strippers, dancers, and other workers would have to pay a $50 fee and provide photo identification, their real name, their home address, and other information.
People in the industry are concerned it would be a waste of money and raises privacy concerns.
The measure has more then 60 co-sponsors.
Supporters say it’s part of a larger effort to curb sex trafficking.
HB262 is expected to go before the House Judiciary committee on Tuesday June 23rd.
