HERSHEY, Pa. -- You may not be able to drive the ball like Jordan Spieth or Dustin Johnson, but there's no reason why you can't get a few extra yards on your tee-shot.

Jeff Batchelor, PGA Professional for Hershey Country Club, says the best way to gain distance on your drive is not through swing speed, but through a bigger, wide, golf swing.

"Maintain your spine angle and reach back," Batchelor said. "Keep the club head as far from your left shoulder as possible. When you swing through and hit the golf ball, continue your chest rotation so the golf head is as far as it can be away from your body."

Batchelor says when practicing, start your swing at about 10 percent, then move to a 50 percent swing, finally working your way to a full, 85 percent swing.

"And as always, hold your pose," he says.
