UPDATE: The suspect surrendered peacefully to police Thursday night, just before midnight. Police identified him as D'Andre Chism.

Police used flash bangs and cut off power along Reel Street in an effort to get the man to come outside.

Police thanked the community for their help with the case.

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Police are engaged in a standoff with a suspect believed to be tied to a fatal shooting in the city earlier in the day.

Harrisburg Police Chief Thomas Carter confirms the standoff on the 2400 block of Reel Street is connected to the deadly shooting at the Exxon station on the 1500 block of State Street, which occurred around 1:15 a.m. Thursday.

Police say 34-year-old Christopher Williams, of Harrisburg, died in the shooting.

A bloody T-shirt and hat were found on the ground next to his vehicle.

Harrisburg police spoke to witnesses and reviewed security footage as they attempted to track down a suspect.

Police haven't identified who they think committed the murder.
