SWATARA TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police are searching for a man who they say robbed a Speedway gas station in Swatara Township on Thursday night.

The man, armed with a gun, walked into the Speedway gas station at 6821 Paxton Street around 10:16 p.m. The suspect demanded money from the cashier, then fled with cash, investigators said.

Authorities believe the incident may be linked to a robbery that happened 45 minutes later at 3B Ice Cream located along the 4700 block of Derry Street.

The armed suspect walked into the ice cream shop demanded money from the employees.  Investigators said as the robber was getting the cash, he placed the gun on the counter. A 3B employee grabbed the gun and the suspect fled the ice cream shop with the money. Police said the employee ran after the robber, but was unable to catch up with him.

Police described the suspect as a black man, between 16 and 20 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing black pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and a black mask.
