When White Horse Fire Company volunteers arrived on the scene smoke and flames were pouring from the basement windows of the home.  The fire quickly went to two alarms with additional companies from nearby Chester County responding to the scene.  It took about 15 minutes to knock down the flames but not before the home was heavily damaged.

The fire is believed to have started by a gas appliance in the basement.  The cause is under investigation.  No estimate of damage.
