CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa.–The phone issue with Cumberland County 911 and Verizon has been resolved.

The Cumberland County 911 Communication Center advises some Verizon customers may be experiencing issues when calling 911 on Saturday.
Currently, the Cumberland County 911 center is experiencing sporadic issues with Verizon cell phone calls to the center.
“It is important that Verizon cell phone users be aware of this issue and in the event that you experience an emergency you are encouraged to use a land line or a cell phone with a service provider other than Verizon,” said Megan Silverstrim, a communications specialist with Cumberland County Department of Public Safety.
Verizon is working with managers to resolve the problem with the county’s 911 call center.
