LEBANON, Pa. — Police are investigating after seeing a spike in heroin overdoses in Lebanon City. In less than a week–three people have died and another is listed in critical condition after overdosing on the dangerous drug, police said.

The three most recent overdoses all occurred on Saturday–within hours of each other. The first happened in the restroom of the McDonald’s at 1202 Maple Street around 9:21 a.m. An unidentified 34-year-old man from Lebanon was found unconscious in a bathroom stall. Police found heroin packets and a syringe nearby the man’s body. Emergency crews were unable to revive the man and he later died.

The next overdose happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. A 23-year-old Lebanon woman was taken to a local hospital by family members. The woman is currently listed in critical condition.

Police were dispatched to another overdose around 5:25 p.m. along the first block of North 10th Street. The 37-year-old woman was found unresponsive at the scene and taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She died at the hospital on Monday, police said. Officers recovered heroin packets and a syringe at the scene.

On Wednesday–a 24-year-old woman died from a heroin overdose along the 1200 block of Willow Street, investigators said. Police were called to a garage in the rear of a home and found the Myerstown woman dead on a mattress.
